Duchamp Research Centre
In 1997 the Staatliche Museum Schwerin acquitted a collection of works by Marcel Duchmap from Ronny van de Velde.
Besides the scientific examination of the own collection, the Duchamp Research Centre, founded in 2009, serves as a platform for research about Duchamp. In 2011 the series “Poiesis” was initiated by the Research Centre documenting research results.

Lecture Notes is a new publication series initiated by the Duchamp Research Centre to advance scholarly discourse around Marcel Duchamp.
As a medium of science and communication, the series is intended to circulate recent scholarship on the work of Marcel Duchamp and make it available to the international Duchamp research community and the interested public.
Lecture notes commences with an essay by Katharina Neuburger, the second recipient of the fellowship from the Duchamp Research Centre. Her essay builds upon work Ms. Neuburger presented in her lecture The Things Unseen: Marcel Duchamp’s exhibition practice in New York and introduces new findings on the strategies Marcel Duchamp utilized to make his Readymades “visible” in the art environment.
Lecture notes No. 2 – Sarah Kolb: Painting at the Service of Metaphysics. Marcel Duchamp and the Echo of Bergsonism
The Viennese philosopher and art historian Sarah Kolb examines the relationship between Marcel Duchamp and Henri Bergson. Kolb investigates the points of intersection and polarity between Duchamp and Bergson in the context of her doctoral dissertation.
